Intellectual property is one of Optotune’s key assets. On average we file 5-10 new patent applications per year mostly in the field of optics and optomechanics. Applications are vast and very diverse such that Optotune cannot exploit all the potential of the generated IP by itself. This has made licensing to third parties an important part of our business. In particular, we are currently looking for licensees for the following applications:
Focus tunable lens for lighting application
Electroactive polymer actuators for applications outside of optics
Light engine design for compact, light-field displays for augmented and virtual reality
Ophthalmology in particular dynamic presbyopia control and ophthalmic equipments
