Working principle

Employing similar fundamental principles as the original Focus Tunable Lens range (accurate displacement of optical grade liquid and deflection of elastic membranes), we have optimized the design of our CCM range cores for simplicity, size and photographic optical quality. Using a glass pusher plate to displace the optical fluid contained within a circular, membrane-enclosed container, the components can achieve high-speed tuning from strongly concave to strongly convex.

Thanks to the freedom of motion of the core components, the lenses can be used to provide either focusing only, or focusing with simultaneous tilt of the optical path, enabling for an extremely space efficient AF + OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) solution.
